Strata required acoustic test to install floorboards and had been recommended to contact Michael from Koikas. At first I thought this would be a troublesome process, but Michael made this so simple that now I know I was so wrong. He had helped to contact my building manager as well as organised the appointment with my neighbor. Definitely a 10 out of 10 for his service and communications. I needed a report for a DA, not having much idea about what would be required for the report asked Koikas Acoustics to cover for me. The whole process took two weeks, and the report was quite unexpected. The depth of review of where my house is located and what materials I would require to meet my particular DA requirements was way more comprehensive than I had in mind. Based on the report I've been able to update the door and window schedules at design phase and not be caught out later. Particularly of note is the report is reviewed by another team member so you get a second opinion thrown in.

They are very geniune and honest people. Our company engagaed Koikas for a project in mid 2019 which did'nt go ahead due to other reasons. I had to get an acoustic report and service because we are close to Sydney airport to adhere to Council’s condition for building approval. Because of the expense of an initial quote, I sort a second from Koikas Acoustic. From this local firm, I was sent a reasonable quote. The appointed acoustic engineer further examined the site details and informed me by phone of options as Council’s condition was invalid. Following our conversation, I paid a small sum to Council to revise and remove the acoustic DA condition. Surprisingly, there was no cost for the acoustic engineer’s advice.
